Monday 6/22/15

Well the motor home is quiet now, Lisa and Jack joined Matt and the girls on a flight back to Phoenix and the end of their vacations.  We will miss them and then again we will enjoy being alone for the rest of our travels this year.  It's always bitter sweet when they leave, we get along but then again at times we don't.  I for one need to remember our vacation last 3 months or so and they are trying to squeeze as much a they can in a couple of 2 or 3 weeks.  Let me apologize right now to Lisa and Jack for being a grump now and again........we also appreciate the help you give us.

It's been a jam packed 5 days since my last blog update, with Father's day thrown in and trying to get Matt and the girls to see as many family members as possible in 2 1/2 days........I think we all did a pretty good job of that.  With a lot of thanks going to my sister Nancy and our niece and nephew John and Kathryn(Kathy) for showing the hospitality of their homes for an evening of dinner and a great Father's day BBQ, good job you guys!  Thanks again, and thanks again to my kids and grand kids for the great gifts, much appreciated and I love you guys.

Would it be a extended trip without some repairs even one ever so minor, yes there seems to be one each trip.  The 18' awning on the side of the motor home had been retracting slowly for the past year or so and finally during one of the thunder storms we've had to endure the spring inside broke and we had to roll it up in the pouring down rain by hand (thanks for your help Lisa).  Of the two RV stores/repair locations here in Davenport both tell us it's going to be 2 to 3 weeks to get it in for repairs, unacceptable to say the least!  With the help of one of them I've found an individual who does mobile repairs and told me today he's ordering the new spring and should have it tomorrow.  Hopefully he gets it and can install it and we can be on the road as scheduled by Wednesday the 24th.

I'm looking at big storms from just north of us here all the way into Minnesota and Wisconsin which is our next direction to head.  Sure home all this nasty weather lets up so we can have smooth sailing from here on out.  We're having dinner tonight with brother Russ and his wife, gotta see Mom one more time before we hit the road and to give Nancy (sister) and Phil some imported Gouda cheese from the Netherlands.................we received a wheel of it from Matt's mother-in-law which he brought back from the Dominican Republic from her via the island of Curacao via the Netherlands, thanks Dalila (Da lee la).  We love this cheese!
