July 1st, 2010....................Hello Philly!

Arrive this morning at our RV site for the next week, Brandy Wine Creek Campground, actually in Downingtown, Pa. about 45 minutes out of Philadelphia. We'll be commuting daily from here to Philadelphia and many surrounding areas. We can visit so many places from here on day trips that a week may not even be enough, like Baltimore, NY City, Atlantic City, Gettysburg, Philly itself and really so much more.

Driving across Pennsylvania can be a challenge of sorts, if you take the toll road/roads it cost a forturn (we're considered class 4 when towing the Jeep) and if you try and us secondary roads for the scenery it's climbing up and down and winding in very slow traffic.................at times very stressful in a motor home let me tell you! We probably did roughly 50/50 and it still cost somewhere near $45 to $50 in tolls and if you ask me they should be in a hurry to put that money to us fixing the wash-board interstate running through here. But all in all we've made it through the Alleghenies and the Appalachians and Pittsburgh worn out but in one piece and anxious to get our week in Philly and surrounding area started.

We stopped and visited another Race Track I'd bet via the OTB'S but wasn't sure where it was at until last night, Penn National and Hollywood Casino but unfortunately didn't take any pictures and fortunately didn't lose any money either. Penn National is a very nice and classy place and their very excited about getting table games besides all the usual slots on July 16th, a big day for them you can tell. My boys Matt and Andy would have loved this too and maybe someday we'll all take this trip.

Bev's doing laundry to get it out of the way before all the sight seeing starts in earnest tomorrow, I hope we have as much fun as we think we're going to have...............we can't wait to get started.
