Price of protesting?

I'm a product of the 60's and I know something about war protest and I've actually been on both sides of the fence when it came to the Vietnam war or conflict. Folks in this country at least up until now still have the right to protest peacefully and let their opinions be heard, and that's a good thing in my opinion.

I'm not sure if there is or was any war that would be what one would call popular, war is not a popular thing because of the death and destruction it causes. People protest our involvement in wars no matter what the reasons for the United States to take part and again that's their right, but for Gods sake don't take it too far and don't use God as your excuse.

This is now coming to light again, the case of Lance Corporal Matthew Snyder who was killed in the Iraq war. A fallen soldier of our United States fighting because his country asked him to, and killed in the line of duty. Four years ago a group lead by a church leader, Fred Phelps from the Westboro Baptist church in Topeka, Kansas protest at the funeral of Lance cpl Matthew Snyder. You not only lost your son but now you have protester from a church no less yelling and screaming at your son's funeral. Protest signs that read: "Thank God for dead soldiers", "God sent IED'S", Thank God for 9/11", Don't pray for the USA", "God blew up the troops" and many more. Your upset you sue the protesters and after years you win a law suit and are award 5 million and then the ruling is over turned by a higher court and the judge there not only reverses the monetary award but orders you to pay the court cost of the church and protesters! Yes, your son died serving his country and his funeral is protested by far left liberal religious fanatics and now your ordered to pay their court cost! Talk about pouring salt into a wound, that would be the ultimate, and now hopefully this will go to the supreme court and at least the paying of the $16,000.00 plus court cost can be over turned.

You can Google Lance cpl Matthew Snyder and read the story if you'd like and then too another note is that Fox News' Bill O'Reilly has said if need be he would pay the court cost for the Snyder family.

Does anyone know what's next and where our country is going...................By the way I heard yesterday my home town of Davenport, Iowa is wanting to change the name of "Good Friday" to something called Spring Day or Spring Holiday..............WTF

Grazing on State trust land.

Living here in north Phoenix we have quite a bit of state trust land in the area and near our home, like the large section just south of us between Joy Ranch and Cloud from 7th street to 7th avenue. This time of year after the winter rains and the temps start their climb the desert turns very green with different grasses and plant life. Living in the area for 5 years or so now we're used to seeing hundreds of sheep, yes hundreds of sheep grazing on this large section of state trust land. Other times there are cattle grazing on the same land and on other sections just like it all around the area. There's are few square mile section north and south of Carefree Hwy just south of us and we always see cattle and sheep eating to their hearts content, gorging themselves like pigs in slop.

Now up until a few days ago I thought nothing of this, as a matter of fact it's nothing to see folks pull along side the fences and take pictures of the sheep and pick out the black ones. Hey what the heck, these ranchers might as well take advantage of the grazing other wise it will just turn brown and die out and possibly become a fire hazard come the hot summer months. No problem right, just get with someone from the state and get permission to graze your stock and that's that everyone is happy.............................not me anymore!

I heard from a unnamed source from the Federal Agriculture department that these rancher not only are and have permission to graze on these state trust lands, but the government in turn pays them to do so! Yes, pays them to graze for free on our state trust land, fatten up your cattle and other stock and save a bundle on feed for a few weeks to a month and we'll pay you to boot! When I say we'll pay you, you know that's me and you in our tax dollars! Oh yes, their helping us out with keeping the brush down in fire season, you know thinning out the brush to prevent fires, by all means let's give them free grazing and pay them as well. Who are the morons that think up this shit, yep the same bunch of elected idiots that pass legislation against the will and the obvious majority of their constituents.

It's my belief if we were to offer free grazing on state trust land to the ranchers either on a first come first serve basis or a lottery other something similar they would jump at it even without getting what's probably hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. Holy cow next thing you know someone in government is going to come up with the idea of paying farmers not to grow crops on their land, wouldn't that be a kick in the ass! Or better yet, lets pay the poor folks not to work.................... hell the American tax payer can handle it, they don't put up a stink so what the hell.

Channel 360 on our dial....................

For those of you that are not with Direct TV, channel 360 around here is Fox News, yes the same Fox News our president and his administration has labeled a non-news network. Yes, the only fair and balanced news network we actually have is or at least was considered opinion TV and not even qualified as a news network to our sitting president! Fact of the matter is per the ratings Fox News is leaps and bounds ahead of the supposedly 3 other major networks which are for some reason afraid to ask the hard questions and lean way too far to one side to be balanced in there reporting of our nations happenings.

News Corp.’s Fox News Channel this year has averaged more than twice the daily audience of its competitors, Time Warner Inc.’s CNN and General Electric Co.’s MSNBC, according to The Nielsen Company. Tomorrow’s interview is set for broadcast at 6 p.m. Washington time, according to the network’s Web site.

Personally I enjoy watching Fox News for the simple fact I usually get both sides of especially political issues, for example when discussing or interviewing someone or almost anything political they have someone from the right and someone from the left and at times someone from the middle. I actually get to hear where both sides are coming from and can make up my own mind as too whom I believe or agree with. If I'm watching NBC, ABC or CBS and yes CNN I'm usually only getting the story from a leftist point of view, nothing to compare just what those networks want me to hear. Probably the worst is MSNBC, actually very little news at all and a lot of left slanting BS from what seems to be all very far left liberals without much real debating of issues.

Anyway the reason I mention this now is that our president and his people seem to now realize that statistically there are a majority of viewers out there watching the fair and balanced news of Fox, especially Independents and many more conservative democrats and they'd like to reach them at this time. As I've stated, we need some kind of health care reform just not this runaway spending and pork filled 2700 plus pages of crap the extremely far left is trying to cram down our throats. Well in trying to reach and influence more Independents and liberal Dems the president has decided Fox is really a legitimate News outlet and he will be making an appearance tonight (March 17th...check your local listings) on the Bret Baier show at 6:00 pm ET. Most of the questions I understand will have come from viewer but I'm looking forward to Bret asking some of the questions other networks have been afraid to address, we need some of the hard questions asked and replied too!

Mr. Obama will most likely not bring his teleprompter with him so you might hear a whole bunch of uh's and wells and uhh's but I'm hoping to get some real answers tonight! Real answers I hope about pulling out all these unconstitutional gimmicks to get this garbage passed.............last week it was an "up and down" vote and now that's not good enough because they can't even get their majority to pass it. Pass out some more sweet heart deals Mr. President like to Louisiana and Nebraska and who knows how many more wasted dollars to do nothing but bankrupt our country!

Craps, and the dice..........

You've all heard of the game craps, a casino game played with a pair of dice on a table that the first time you looked at it you were very intimidated by it. Once you learn the game you'll see it's one of the more fun and exciting games in a casino, and you can't tell me if you've ever been in a casino you haven't heard all the excitement coming from those crap tables. Craps is a continuous game within a game within a game etc. etc, etc., and a player can jump in and start a new at anytime. But this isn't a blog on how to play craps or the rules of craps or anything like that, this is about the "toss" of the dice!

Next time your around a crap table just stand there and observe for a while a few of the players when they have the dice and the actual rituals they might go through before and following the "toss". You'll no doubt see things like the "under hand toss with air" where the person gentle tosses the dice in a high arc toward the other end of the table and gently snuggling up against the end wall. By the way it is a rule of 99.9% of house that insist the dice hit the back wall each toss or a warning will occur. Then you might see the palm down toss with air, like the under hand toss only it's like throwing a back spin slow pitch softball at the plate and the dice in turn also gently come to rest just off the end wall. Then you might see the hard sideways toss where to player flings the dice rather hard and low into the back wall landing back in the middle or even toward the thrower. Then there's the slider who leaves the dice touching the table and briskly slides the dice towards the end wall basically tumbling all the way to the other end and come hard off the end wall. Then you have something between the under hand toss and the sideways throw towards one of the end wall corners and thus the dice make the bend and circle the end wall starting at either the right or left corner and finishing in or near the opposite corner and stay low as to not hop off the table (this is my favorite by the way).

There are also rituals before the dice are even tossed, like turning them on the table over and over until the number on top is your number or just a favorite of yours that you used all the time. Or the guys that just pick them up without a glance and toss immediately toward the other end, no farting around, just pick them up and throw (this too is my favorite). Some players will stack the dice one on top of the other to begin the toss and then of course you have your blowers and shakers in the hand before the toss like you might see on TV or in the movies! Whatever you do you don't take the dice off or out of the table ring or hide them or their view from the stick man, that's a no no and calls for a warning.

Now if your on a roll and rolling some numbers over and over without a 7 being rolled everyone is making money and the stick man or boys working the table may try and rattle or disrupt you by saying things like make sure you get em all the way down or don't pick the dice up so high etc. to try and cool you off...........................believe it or not it works and we all hate the bother! Best thing in that case is to leave the table with your winnings and start a new session a bit later!

Check it out next time in a casino and see for yourself all the quirky things happening on and around a craps game!

What I feel is the ultimate act of being Rude.

There are numerous ways to be rude to someone and we've all no doubt been rude a few times in our lives, but there is one act of rudeness that I'd put right up on top of the list! Being late or tardy in my opinion is very rude, nothing compares in my opinion with someone being late or even tardy for a meeting or other event. When someone is late there's a tension that begins with others towards the person who's late, not to mention other consequences that might occur.
Being late cause a lot of folks to get speeding tickets, or skip other things in order to even make what they might consider a "fashionably" late appearance.

There is no such thing as being fashionably late, late is late and others have been waiting for you and it's just plain inconsiderate! In my opinion there is nothing wrong with being early, being early never causes the problems or consequences of someone being late. I have never understood how someone could be late for something recurring like say church on Sunday morning or punching the clock at work. After preparing for church or a class or something as simple as your bowling night, you'd think after a couple of times you'd know how long it take and plan accordingly. I don't care if you take 40 minute showers (can't see that for the life of me) and it takes another 30 minutes to get dressed and another 10 minutes for incidentals and then a 20 minute drive to your meeting or appointment that's for 9:00 am why you wouldn't get up and get started by at least 7:30 am. With that additional 10 minutes you would have in case it's needed or for just being a few minutes early!

No there is not many excuses in my book for someone being late and especially for those things that are or have the same recurring date or appointment time, it's rude and inconsiderate to your friends and family.

I apologize Mr. Bunning!

It was just earlier last month, February 12th, that our president signed an executive order implementing what's call "Pay Go" or pay as you go to help reduce the deficit. Hey, it's March 2nd and that's only 18 days since his executive order that the President and his side of the isle are ridiculing Senator Bunning for holding up the passage of a bill that isn't paid for. You can't have it both ways Mr. President, you made the rule and now you don't want to keep it and it's less that 3 weeks since you signed the order! I for one think you and your colleagues on the left owe Senator Bunning a apology for trying to get something paid for according to your orders before making it law.

And since it's been a while since I did a Obama blog, let's just finish with these gems; Obama lay of the smokes your doctor says..........remember you raised the cigarette tax for all the poor smokers out there while you buff a way each day! Second, make your alcohol intake more to the moderate side of things.........hey lets start drinking in moderation I believe is what he was told. And third you tell the rest of us to conserve and keep our thermostats below 72 degrees while you can grow orchids in most rooms of the White house!

Mr. Obama, just don't read what they write for you on the teleprompters start practicing what you preach dude!
